Dream Labs raises $90M and launches Dream API

Dream Labs this week said it has raised $90 million in seed funding. The company also launched Dream API, a publicly available application programming interface to turn a robot’s camera feed and a plain-English instructions into motor commands, even for robots it has never seen before. Factories worldwide run a record 5 million industrial robots, yet nearly every one is programmed for a single task, and most cannot transfer what they have learned to other machines, noted Dream Labs. Low-cost robots now sell for a few thousand dollars but ship with no built-in intelligence. Teaching one robot one task can take specialists months, and a new task or new hardware often means starting from zero, according to the San Francisco startup. Dream Labs said its Dream-1 flagship model works across robots from different manufacturers. Trained on video of people performing everyday tasks, it can predict what will happen next and determine the robot’s resulting action. Because it learns from video rather than from a single machine, its capabilities transfer across hardware, Dream Labs claimed. The company said Dream-1 can control any robot “out of the box” with grippers and zero-shot learning. “The hardware is ready. What’s been missing is a brain any robot can use,” stated Joel Jang, co-founder and CEO of Dream Labs. “When you get into a rental car, you don’t relearn how to drive. Blue Origin eyes weekly launches for its 400-foot New Glenn rocket by decade’s end
Blue Origin is expanding its Florida operations to support a much faster launch schedule, targeting multiple New Glenn flights per week by the end of the decade. The plan includes a $330 million manufacturing expansion, additional launch pads, and new facilities for payload processing and booster refurbishment. The company says it has invested more than $3 billion in Florida infrastructure. Its operations now span more than 20 sites across Brevard and Orange counties, supported by over 5,000 employees and 500 suppliers. The expansion aims to address a central challenge in commercial spaceflight: increasing launch frequency requires more than additional rockets. Manufacturers must produce hardware faster, ground crews must prepare missions in parallel, and reusable boosters must return to service efficiently. Scaling new Glenn production Blue Origin is expanding Rocket Park, its 1.37-million-square-foot manufacturing campus near NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. A $330 million project will add capacity for producing New Glenn’s 9×4 second stage. Scheduled for completion in summer 2027, the expansion will support annual production of up to 150 upper stages. That output would provide substantial manufacturing capacity as the company pursues a higher flight rate. The factory is also gaining automated machining, welding, material handling, and inspection systems. These technologies can improve production consistency and help workers identify defects earlier. Additional investments in chemical processing, fairing preparation, tooling, and storage will support the movement of hardware through the manufacturing process. Tegoprubart preserves kidney function better than tacrolimus in first-time transplant patients, trial suggests
The phase 2 BESTOW clinical trial showed that tegoprubart (a novel anti-CD40L antibody therapy) was better at preserving kidney function than tacrolimus (the current standard of care) in immunosuppressive regimens in adults receiving their first kidney transplant. Kidney graft function stabilized after the first month of treatment and remained higher in tegoprubart-treated patients than in tacrolimus-treated patients at each reported time point, with a statistically significant kidney function benefit at 18 months. A recent analysis of BESTOW data found that tegoprubart also caused greater improvements in patient-reported health-related quality of life compared with tacrolimus in study participants.
